Onboarding

The journey begins with a call from you to Wallz! A Wallz ADU specialist will kick things off with a remote site assessment, tapping into satellite imagery to explore your backyard’s ADU potential. Next, we’ll visit the site, discuss budgets, and present a bouquet of financing options just for you. Then, we’ll hand over a floor plan that suits your style. After you’ve given the green light, it’s signing time! Once the agreement’s inked, you can sit back and relax because we handle everything for you.

Permit

Although we have tons of pre-approved plans, each nuance of architectural design and customization requires a new permit application to comply with a wide range of local regulations, zoning laws, and building codes. We will submit an ADU/JADU permit application along with all the necessary calculations and accompanying required fees. The application undergoes reviews by various departments. We will further address revisions or other public participation requirements. Upon securing the approval, the building permit will be immediately issued, marking the green light for the ADU project.

Site Construction

Constructing a custom ADU/JADU consists of several key stages. The first step involves the boundary survey to define an accurate space and foster a neighborly environment. Demolition clears the area for construction to begin, followed by the underground mechanical setup for utility systems and pipelines. The subsequent step includes the foundation of the unit, a crucial step that supports the stability and durability of your ADU. Then, a series of projects follows to install electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, windows, doors, and the roof. The final step of interior construction is insulation setup, which is a vital aspect of enhancing energy efficiency.

Finishing

finishing touches are tailored to your taste and style. This is the phase that transforms your ADU into a personalized environment and brings the unit into life. Interior finishing may include drywalling, painting, flooring, fixtures, kitchen appliances, bathroom fixtures, electrical fittings, and anything that makes it closer to your dreams. Exterior works may include siding, painting, and adding other architecture details that you may desire.
